Notice of Intention to Adopt Conflict-of-Interest Code

By September 19, 2012June 20th, 2016Public Notices

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Regional Water Authority intends to adopt a new conflict-of-interest code pursuant to Government Code section 87300 and 87303. Pursuant to Government Code section 87302, the code will designate employees who must disclose certain investments, income, interests in real property and business positions, and who must disqualify themselves from making or participating in the making of governmental decisions affecting those interests.

A written comment period has been established commencing on September 19, 2012 and terminating on November 2, 2012. Any interested person may submit written comments concerning the proposed code by no later than November 2, 2012 to the Regional Water Authority, 5620 Birdcage Street, Suite 180, Citrus Heights, CA 95610. No public hearing on this matter will be held unless any interested person or his or her representative requests a public hearing no later than 15 days prior to the close of the written comment period.

The Regional Water Authority is adopting a new conflict of interest code because it has acquired members from counties outside the Sacramento County, including El Dorado, Placer and Yolo Counties, and therefore must file with and obtain approval of its code from the Fair Political Practices Commission as the code reviewing body.

Interested persons may obtain copies of the Authority’s proposed conflict of interest code and all of the information upon which it is based from the Regional Water Authority, 5620 Birdcage Street, Suite 180, Citrus Heights, CA 95610. Any inquiries concerning the proposed code should be directed to Nancy Marrier, Board Secretary, at (916) 967-7692 or nancy@rwah2o.org.
